Flat Tire Repair in Massachusetts & Rhode Island

tire repair massachusetts rhode island

A flat tire is no fun. It is an inconvenience that happens to everyone at some point. A flat tire may be caused by piercing of the tire by a sharp object, such as a nail, allowing air to escape. Depending on the severity of the puncture, the tire might deflate slowly or swiftly. Many times, a small puncture can be repaired without needing to replace the tire. If your tire can be repaired, it’s better to fix it and keep the set together. In some cases, the severity of the damage is too extreme, and tire replacement is necessary.

During our tire repair service, we’ll inspect your tire and, if possible, restore it in accordance with strict industry standards. We can perform a diagnostic that will allow us to detect and repair even a tiny leak. A tire repair should be installed by a tire service technician who has been trained to do a complete, proper repair. NEW ENGLAND TIRE Car Care Centers offers quality flat tire repair services in Massachusetts & Rhode Island. We will inspect and adjust your air pressure and do an aesthetic tire check and return you to the road quickly.

Flat Tire Repair Services Will Include:

  • Dismounting and inspection of the tire to determine whether it can be repaired
  • Flat-tire repair as per industry standards
  • Proper plugging and patching from the inside of the tire if suitable for repair
  • Rebalancing of tire and wheel assembly
  • Check tire pressure and reset the tire pressure monitoring system

When Can a Tire Be Repaired vs. Replaced?

Flat tires need to be inspected thoroughly to see if they can be repaired safely. Buying new tires is more costly, but it is much safer than repairing a tire, that based on the location and size of the puncture, is hazardous. Follow these guidelines to determine if your tire can be repaired or needs replacement.

A Tire Can Be Repaired If:

  • The puncture occurred in the central portion (central ¾) of the tread.
  • The puncture or damage is not on the edge or sidewall of the tire
  • The puncture doesn’t measure more than 1/4 of an inch in diameter
  • The repairs do not overlap, or the injuries are not directly across from each other

Flat Tires Need To Be Replaced If:

  • Splitting or protruding treads or sidewalls that might imply there is wear or weakness
  • Foreign object that punctures through into the tire (nails, screws, glass)
  • Tread tearing away from the body of the tire
